My learning experience of PGD
I have been grooming myself as the
teacher of Aksharaa school since 6 years now. Teaching was a complete new thing
for me. I went there as a fresher but have tutored myself in such a way that I have
developed a passion for working with the young minds.
Suddenly my school offered me
something that I was unaware about. It offered me to join the 1 year classes of
KU and pursue my education one more time. I was quite skeptical about the
entire thing. I was a working woman along with that I had the responsibility of
two kids whom I had to help lots of times. Initially I thought that I would not
be able to manage with the time. So I thought this was not my cup of tea. I had
a talk with my family member on contrary they thought it was a good opportunity
for me. keeping every one’s advice, I decided to grab the opportunity.
As put up by Brain Herbert “the capacity to
learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a
choice.” So I enrolled myself in the virtual classes of the PGD. Primarily when
the class started I was completely unaware about it. As there were some technical
glitches I could not enroll myself on time. After sometime I started the class.
It was distant learning so distance and reaching the classes on time did not
bother me. My working place was flexible enough for me to grant me early hour
leave.
As the class started it was quite
interesting. I was little aware about STEAM as it was discussed and practiced
to some extent in my working place. However, as I got introduced to it more I figured
out that I had little knowledge about it and there were ample of things that I needed
to learn. The various subjects helped me to understand about it more.
I had been using computers do my
work and document the things. Nevertheless, I did not have the deep
understanding of report writing and its format. The ICT has helped me in using
the device in a more efficient way. I was somewhat aware about the curriculum of
the country. If I was not enrolled here I would never be able to differentiate
the curriculum of the yesteryears to this day. I would never be able to find
out the different good and the bad aspect of the curriculum because of which it
was improvised and how it has helped us to attain the good education system with
in the country. The guided philosophies which has helped us to know about the
education has helped me become a better teacher. I was gradually getting hook
of it and enjoying and learning in my classes some misfortune occurred in my family
because of which I missed the classes.
As I joined back after about fortnight
everything seemed new to me. I could sense that I have missed lots of thing and
to gear up I have to put my heart and soul to. There were lots of assignments
that was pending. Hopefully as I toil
myself into this I will be able to keep up to the expectations of my teachers
and my family. And above all this will help me to enhance my learning better
and help me in the days to come to be a better as a person and as a teacher.
